Hi John, It's not going to be anything to do with MTU, the most likely cause is that you haven't opened up the correct ports in your firewall. As Shareaza can access multiple transports/networks namely eDonkey, Gnutella, Gnutella2 and the Bittorrent protocol at the same time you're slow performance would depend on which type of transfers are slow as different networks have difference characteristics. For example eDonkey transfers (the yellow ones in Shareaza) are slow to start due to the eDonkey queueing system but after a long period of time transfers can build up speed, but probably not if you have a 'LowID' which is caused by your firewall not being configured correctly. Also you'll find that Shareaza isn't quite as good on the eDonkey network as a dedicated eDonkey client like eMule. On the other hand the Gnutella2 (or G2) network is much more efficient than eDonkey and tranfers can max out your connection pretty quickly, although G2 search results won't be as huge as what you will find on the eDonkey network. Shareaza can be initially quite simple to use but can be quite complex to tune. But you can get loads of related info at the Sharaza Wiki or in the Shareaza Forums.
