Hi there!
Is it legal, or even possible to use a someone else's copy of XP, if you enter your own Product ID. I have a legal copy of XP pre-installed, with Product ID, but such as it is nowadays, no CD disc.
Any Ideas? Many Thanks!

Hi... It should be OK to do just that. If you go out and buy a copy of Windows in your local shop what you're really paying for is not only the package but also a single-user licence to run Windows on your PC. If you install Windows from a disc of the same version as your license (i.e. your Product ID) then there won't be a problem. In a corporate environment for example, the same Windows source files are used across all of their client PC's, what is payed for is the multi-user licence to cover all of the installations. Hope that helps
