hi all
ive got windows xp 2.4 pent 4 512 ram pc the problem is my media players this what happends i can play music ok on it plays fine when i wont to play video clips any format mpg i says conecting to media it starts to load it slows the pc down so much sometime i have to turn the pc off at the tower because the pc wont respond i have reinstalled my media player and installed diffrent player like real player it the same on real player to ok with music not video clips

Wierd problem... Only 2 possible causes I can think of... codecs and graphics card drivers. Try updating your video codecs by installing the K-Lite Codec Pack then download and intall the latest drivers for your graphics card. Give your PC a reboot and see if it's any different.

thx for the post i have installed k lite pack and updated my grahic card but sadly still the same is there something on the pc to tick so it works or something ??

Next thing to try would be to download & install the latest drivers for your sound card. I know it sounds odd for a video playback issue but old/original sound drivers as well graphics drivers could cause DirectX problems if you have a newer version of DirectX installed (i.e. if you Windows is upto date).
