Hello mate, Seve here. I've downloaded the bit torrent site on my computer which is running XP Pro. Saved it into a file and then installed it through the set up wizard, then got a message that bit torrent was fully installed.
Went to a site called suprnova and clicked on a file to download stuff! A window popped up and said " connecting to peers" along with other info.
After about 10secs another window pop's up saying:
Problem connecting to tracker-<urlopen error (7,'getaddrinfo failed')>
Any ideas please!! getting pee'd that I can't download anything.
Thanks
Seve

Hello again Seve, The tracker error you're getting is one of 2 things... The tracker at Suprnova has a problem or is unable to get the file, which you can't do anything about... orIf this is happening on all files you try to download, you've probably have a proxy server set in your connection settings. To check for & remove the proxy server goto your control panel and open ' Internet Options'. Click on the ' Connections' tab. Click on the ' LAN Settings' button, If there is a tick in the box for ' Use a proxy server for your LAN' then remove it. If you had to remove the proxy server then try Suprnova again, things should start working.

Hi Vin,
Thanks for the quick reply! but I've had no luck. None of the files in bit torrent will download and the box within the connections tab wasn't ticked.
Stuck now mate, any more ideas?
Cheers
Seve

Sorry about the delay... As you may have noticed, the site's been kinda poorly these past few days. Anyway, the only other things that I could think of is; - Test it with your firewall disabled for a couple of minutes. (Of course make sure that you have XP fully updated before you do this)
- Try some other torrent sites....
Hotfire.tk CDDVDHeaven bt.g.la
- Try installing a different BitTorrent client such as Azureus
Good Luck
