how can i remove highjackers from my internet address bar? i have one on top and bottom of my screen. the bottom one is quite big and really restricts my screen. i have downloaded a program called "highjack this" which lists all programs running when i boot up. the problem is how do i know which to delete safely ? without disrupting other programs....please help! i do not wish to re install windows if possible! thanks ive run adaware and spybot.but without success.

Hi there... Spybot & Ad-Aware are a couple of tools that will get rid of such malware. Just download, install, update & scan your PC. Both can be downloaded from Nethomehelp's download page. Either of these will detect the offending programs and allow you to delete them. If you wish to avoid such spyware in the future, use a different web browser. Internet Explorer is notoriously vunerable to such exploits. I always recommend Mozilla Firefox which is much faster and more secure than IE. Also if you're using Windows XP and you really want to stick with using Internet Explorer (or even if you don't), install Service Pack 2 from the Quick Links menu on Nethomehelp's front page.
