Hi Vin,
Having a problem with the in-law's laptop, they run windows Xpand have recently installed bt broadband.
Once the installation disc is set up and you connect to the internet (like i am now) every thing works fine. But then when you turn the computer off and then come to it the next day to turn it on and connect to the internet it say's "unable to connect to the remote computer". you then have to go through the whole installation again to get back onto the internet.
Any ideas please mate?

Hi Sev, Soz, I hadn't noticed your post... The only cause that immediately springs to mind is that there may be malware/rogue dialler on the PC which is changing the dial number (usually 0 on a DSL connection) or the login name. As ever, do a scan with one of the recommended spyware removal programs on the downloads page and a virus scan. If the problem isn't caused by malware, try completely uninstalling the BT related software and setup the connection manually as you would a dialup connection, all you need is the BT login name & password. You can start the New Connection Wizard by going to the Control Panel, then open Network Connections and click on ' Create a new connection' and then follow the wizard through to completion. If you need further help just reply.
