Hey every1 I am in school final year, pretty much a g33k but i'm funny as hell so be nice to me. Anyway I need some help, I have come across a way to get around filtering at school which is good since even hotmail is filtered, I am on the RM network and alot of everything is filtered, pr0n sites I can understand but to block any site with any sexual or bad word in is a bit far. So since they have blocked using run i opened up notepad using source on the internet and changed the content to command.com and saved it as batch.bat. This obviously created a batch file then I should be able to open it up put in a website name and it should say the ip if I ping it then I copy the ip into the adress bar and i'm cool to go on any site I want. But the g33ks at RM have blocked batch files too so I have come to a stand still, I can't be bothered to find out the ip of every site I wish to visit while at school so any idea of a site that may be able to tell me the ip of websites and won't be filtered. Thanx alot would be great if you could help me and awesome site by the way have saved I disagree and my computer many times.

Hi there... I do have to say, I agree that web filtering should be pretty strict in a school. Not only to deny access to unsuitable web content but also to give the teachers an easier time in class and to prevent malicious web sites from installing malware onto the system/browser. Anyhow.. On Nethomehelp's 'Links' page there is a link at the top titled ' DNS Tools' which will take you to dnsstuff.com. Here you have an online ping on the right of the page, so no need to ping from the PC to find a site's IP address, I will note though that not all web servers/sites accept pings (ICMP packets) so you might find that some sites just time out. Also there are some web/cgi proxy sites out there such as www.proxify.com & www.guardster.com that will let you browse the web from within their web site, thus bypassing many content filters.. so long as their site isn't blocked.

;)Thnx alot for your reply I shall try it out but be sure that I am not about to crash the system I do just want to visit sites that are unnecessarily filtered, even websites suggested by teachers and that contains helpful information for work is filtered alot of the time preventing work from being completed to it's full potential. I will not be telling anybody how this is done for exactly the reasons you have stated, I do not wish to have the system crashed or infected with spyware and therfore will do all i can to prevent that from happening. Thank You very much for your help be sure that your help will not be used for malicious reasons.
