i have brought a new monitor this week.working fine untill i seem to have lost the width settings. my monitor now has a black border either side of about one centimetre. ihave the width settings on maximum. im in 800x600 pixel setting.shop owner tells me it should be in a higer setting for my 17inch model. what icant understand is it was fine in 800x600 setting when we first had it. i know it is something ive altered maybe accidently, but icant seem to get it back.my cursor dissapears of the edge of the screen on the right hand side! please help.

Hi Steve, I suspect you've got a flat screen LCD monitor which is not designed to display for such a small screen area. Just set your screen resolution to 1024x768 which is the expected normal resolution nowadays as most web sites & applications are designed for at least 1024x768. Instructions HEREAlso, pretty much all new monitors have an 'Auto' button which auto calibrates the display to fit the screen, have a look on the panel or browse through the monitor's on-screen menu.
