I'm having mouse problems, and I think I suspect the worse.
I have a emachine pc, about 1 year old, and 2 months ago was having mouse problems, horizontal was ok, but vertical seemed to stick, after about 1 month of cleaning out the ball, finally gave up, and went out and bought a wireless mouse.
This worked ok for about a month, but recently this problem has re occured. Last night the up function worked, but no down function. Also it appeared to always to have a contantly pressed up option.
Today there is no vertical movement at all, no up or down. I have removed the base and ball and tried tweeking the rollers directly with no result.
Is this a known problem ? Could it be an internal pc wiring problem ?
Today I plan to borrow a used, woking and trusted mouse and try that, but I suspect the worst.
Any comments and suggestions or prev knowledge gratefully recieved.

If it's a wired mouse (i.e. not cordless) then it sounds as if the cable is damaged, if that's the case you'll need to buy a new one.

Also, If the problem persists have a look at the mouse socket pins they may be damaged. If this is the case you can try a usb mouse.
