Hi, Anyone know why my Win XP machine has lost the automatic import feature when I plug in a compact flash card into the card reader with photos on it?
It used to immediately pop up the Camera and Scanner wizard and prompt me for a name (very useful) for the jpg files to be named and then copy them to a chosen directory, giving each named file a sequential number.
i have tried right clicking on the drive letter it has and choosing propeties and then settin Pictures/ Autoplay to start the wizard but it doesn't help.
Seems to have started (NOT SURE) when I downloaded WMP v.10.
Tried uninstalling and restore too. No luck.
Anyone any guesses? Thanks

Hi, Anyone sharing my problem I have found the answer (or at least a work around) myself. All I/you need do (and it's really simple) is insert compact flash card, then right click the folder containing the photos (jpg files) and choose Autoplay from the drop down menu. This fires up the Camera Scanner wizard. It used to work automatically when I inserted the card but at least this renames the files to a name of your chice and offers you the choice of destination folder.
