Hi Vin,
I recently installed Start Up Mechanic after reading your answer to a problem of a slow running PC.
It's a great little programm and has stopped a lot of useless background programms from running. Here's the BUT though, it has stopped my Sygate Firewall also. It was initially binned as a harmful program. I re-instated it but it still does not load at start up. I have checked Sygate itself and it reports that the Start Up Mechanic was attempting to hijack the port or something. I am currently having to start the Firewall manually before I turn on the Modem which is no good as it wont be long before I forget and run without my firewall on. Can you help?
Regards - Roundboy

Get rid of your start up mechanic as it has spyware on it.If you want a good tool to control your start up menu get winpatrol.I have it and i have disabled 10 items not needed on start up .Its www.winpatrol.com I have the paid for version but the free version is almost the same.Go for it! ;D

Thanks. I have downloaded WinPatrol no probs and it looks good. Any suggestions on how to get rid of Start up mechanic - there is no uninstall and it does not show up in add/remove programs either
