Please help, I have 128MB RAM in my laptop and it has a free slot for more RAM. I have bought 256MB SODIMM RAM which I was told is compatable with my system. When I put the new memory in and reboot, the screen displays that the memory has been changed, but windows will not restart. When I remove the memory the same message is displayed but windows starts and runs normally. How do I get the new RAM to work? Thanks Jack

Hi Jack...
This'll be pretty straight forward. Either the new RAM doesn't match or is incompatible with the existing RAM in your laptop.... or it's faulty. If you are adding the new RAM to expand on the old RAM then it's usually an incompatability issue. I've just done a a search on Yahoo and found that the Dell Latitude CPx uses PC100 SDRAM, are you sure that's what you've bought?
